NaOCl Generator System for Copper Mine in Chile

Product Overview

CHLORCEHCO has the opportunity to participate in a project for a copper mine in Chile. This copper mine uses seawater for processing ore in the mine. Seawater is pumped at 100,000 cubic meters per day from the sea. The On-Site NaOCl generator system is used to treated 100,000 cubic meters of seawater for anti bio-fouling.

The block diagram of the project is shown below. Two systems will be used for the project.

The Description of the Electrochlorination System is shown below:
  • Electrochlorination plant will draw filtered sea water supply of 61.16 GPM
  • Each NaOCl generator system produces a rate of up to 600 lbs/day from the one of two, 50% stream.
  • Sea water conveyed to the Electrolysis unit containing particles below 100 microns through the filter.
  • After electrolysis process the solution will be conveyed a degassing tank, where hydrogen is dissipated by blowers.
  • Continuous dosing to Sea Water: 2 x 50% Pump
  • Seawater is pumped at 100,000 cubic meters per day from the ocean.
  • Total NaOCl generated per day: 1123 lbs per day
  • Two separate system of 600 lbs per day are used.
  • Seawater is used for processing ore from the mine.
  • Electrochlorination to 5 PPM of NaOCl is performed for anti bio-fouling.
  • An acid wash system is required.
